• Bolt in JK 14 Bolt Axles

We wanted to get some feedback from the community on who might be interested in a direct bolt-in crate rear OE 14 Bolt axle for the Jeep JK?
This would be a much more economical axle from the fabricated Super-14 and Torq-14 JK axles that we regularly build.

These would be built of a completely refurbished OEM 14 Bolt axle overhauled by the team at Torq Motorpsorts.

All axles would be tested for leaks and checked for alignment with a true bar prior to being rebuilt by Torq.

Axles would be overhauled with new seals and bearing and have ABS/ESP reluctor rings installed on the hubs.

Options would include your choice of the following equipment:

Detroit, Grizzly, or ARB Air Locker
Gear Ratio
Torq JK Axle Bracket Kit
13 Bolt shave kit
Artec or Motobilt truss kit
Pinion Yoke guard
1541H, 4340, or 300M axle shafts
Disc Brake kit with 2 different ebrake options
Replacement E-brake cables
Option for Rock Krawler upper 3 link mount (for Rock Krawler Lifts)
We can build these axles to be much more cost effective than an aftermarket Dana 60 with strength that would rival a Dana 80.

Please let us know what you think. The input would be appreciated.

We are working up package pricing as we speak.

Re: Bolt in JK 14 Bolt Axles

Sounds like a great idea. what is your idea of a much more affordable axle? I understand you as a company have to make a profit. Seems most companies want to get rich right off the bat. Would we be interested, sure we would. Price will always determine if we buy or not. Many of us are the working class. The prices most companies put on these axles are way out of our budget. I guess I will have to wait till you mention cost.

No, thank you...If you guys can pull this off for a reasonable cost you'd have a real winner. I know a ton of guys that want/need one ton's but swinging the cost of the products on the market right now is just not going to happen. The other issue is the electronics. Not having ABS/ESP, etc. is not an option with some drivers/families.

I'm surprised there doesn't appear to be more attention to this and on FB. Maybe it's just this group/forum. Not sure if you're hitting up some of the JK specific groups.

In any case, I have my fingers crossed. If for some crazy reason you need some help with people running the axles I'd be more than happy to offer up my JK.

Remember, it's easier to get 1 dollar from a million people that it is to get 1 million dollars from one person.

            Thanks
            Mike

Re: Bolt in JK 14 Bolt Axles

Axles are generally not cheap to build. Out side of an engine or transmission, axles can really be a bear of an expenses when building a rig. Carriers (Lockers) and axle shafts are always the big expense when it comes to building any axle. With that in mind we think we have found a way to reduce the typical rear axle cost while taking the overhaul headache out of the equation for the average Joe. Serg sorry for the last thread going dormant. We do value the interaction with the Forbidden tremendously.

It will take a few days to get the pricing finalized so please subscribe to this thread in the mean time.

By all means please keep the engagement and questions coming.

The goal is to get a good base offering that ranges between the $3k and $5k (maybe even less) ballpark depending on options. The expensive option would be fully built out with all of the bells and whistles (ie Chromo Shafts & ARB Locker, etc).

                Thanks again for the replies!!

Re: Bolt in JK 14 Bolt Axles

Glen the typical width of the 14 Bolt build out is 67" from wheel mount to wheel mount. Switching over to the disc brake setup decreases the WMS by roughly 1/2" (so 66.5" ish wheel mount to wheel mount). They really seem to fit quite nice into the JK.

thats not too bad of a price point. would require a bit of saving but for what your getting its definitely on the competitively priced side of things.
